DVR Security Solution for Positive Retail Manager
August 29, 2007 · Leave a Comment
Positive Software company has integreted its Positive Retail Manager with Talon DVR System. PRM now provides real-time exception reporting with video integration.
Mdtcs is pleased to announce support of the Talon DVR point-of-sale (POS) video integration for the general Retail, Pool Supply and Clothing store applications.
The solution allows the Talon DVR Series to sync video from security cameras with the point-of-sale transactions. Retailers can then produce both real-time and after-the-fact exceptions reports which help management make decisions that improve efficiencies.
According to Positive spokes man, this is the only complete Pos video integration that allows near real-time exception reporting.
The integration also allows a user to pull up after-the-fact reporting to analyze employee performance, or simply search for transactions of interest such as stolen credit card use, misuse of coupons or inappropriate customer returns.
The solution can also be extended to provide real-time local or remote observation for a variety of purposes such as training lanes.

POSitive Connect Now a Standard PRM Feature
Positive Software companyis working to make PRM standout as the most feature rich program in its class. The built-in ability to allow data to be accessed over the internet is something most competing programs simply don’t offer, so we’ve decided to make POSitive Connect a standard feature of PRM. Beginning with the next release, a separate unlock will not be necessary to activate POSitive Connect and existing PRM users will simply need to upgrade in order to use it.
In other PRM news, they have two new features that will be available in the next official release. The first is enhanced trade-in capability, which is geared towards businesses, like video game stores, that buy used merchandise from customers. The second is batch tagging and printing of orders, web orders, service orders and layaways. For example, with the current version of PRM all web orders are printed one at a time, which is not very efficient, so this new feature will be a time saver for some of our users.
